US Customs Exempts Some Chinese Products from "Reciprocal Tariffs"

On April 10, 2025, the US government announced that it would further increase the "reciprocal tariff" rate on Chinese goods imported into the US to 125%.  This wanton increase in extremely high tariffs on China by the US seriously violates international economic and trade rules, ignores the post - World War II global economic order constructed by the US itself, and also goes against basic economic laws and common sense.  It is a completely unilateral and bullying coercion.

In response, the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council announced that, with the approval of the State Council, from April 12, 2025, the tariff rate imposed on imported goods originating from the US would be increased from 84% to 125%.
