The main chain of silicone rubber is composed of alternating silicon and oxygen atoms, and two organic groups are usually attached to the silicon atom. Silicone rubber has excellent high and low temperature resistance and can work at -55°C, even up to -73°C. In addition, silicone rubber also has good air permeability and physiological inertness, and will not cause coagulation, so it is widely used in the medical field. Silicone rubber is divided into hot vulcanized type and room temperature vulcanized type. The former is the largest in dosage and is often used to manufacture various silicone rubber products. Industrial electrical rubber partsmade of silicone rubber is widely used in insulating materials and sealing materials in the electronics industry, as well as oxygen sensor covers, protective covers, motor seals, etc. in the automotive industry.
2. EPDM (ethylene-propylene copolymer)
EPDM is known for its high elasticity and resistance to salt solutions, oxygenated solutions and synthetic hydraulic fluids. It is often used in situations where high elasticity is required, such as the manufacture of wires and cables. EPDM is particularly used in medium-voltage cables because of its thin skin, low energy loss and high production efficiency. EPDM is gradually being used to manufacture medium-voltage wires and cables with continuous use temperatures above 105°C. Industrial electrical rubber parts made of this material are mainly used in the manufacture of wires and cables, especially in medium-voltage cables.
3. Fluororubber
Industrial electrical rubber parts made of fluorine have super high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance, and are often used in modern aerospace, missile rockets, atomic energy and other cutting-edge technology fields. Fluororubber can maintain high performance under extreme conditions, but its production cost is high and its tolerance to radiation is poor. It is mainly used for seals and fuel pump seals in the aerospace field.
